Mixman Technologies, Inc.

Mixman Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Josh Gabriel and Eric Almgren. The mission was to create powerful but easy to use music creation tools aimed at the Hip-Hop. Electronica and Dance communities.

The "Spin Control" interactive CD-Rom was the first true remixing software, debuting in stores and online in 1996, that allowed users to perform in real-time with zero-latency and utilizing auto-beat matching. With patented synchronous technology, and a flexible proprietary audio format, Mixman's software has continued to evolve and is now available for all music fans, enthusiasts as well as serious music makers.

Mixman products allow people of all ages and skill levels to interact with, customize, control and perform music using professional studio-quality tools on their PC. Mixman StudioXPro is currently the flagship software product. All Mixman products are known for their unique look and feel, and the powerful but easy to use feature sets. Mixman software has been translated into seven languages, and is currently available worldwide for the Wintel suite of operating systems.

Since its inception, Mixman has been working closely with artists, producers and record labels offering songs in various styles, in Mixman format. Whether via ECD, or online these 'interactive songs' known as D-Plates™ offer enthusiasts a way to get closer to the music they love, by actually being able to remix beats and loops from artists they are familiar with. Mixman has partnered with major recording labels including Capitol, Tommy Boy, Warner Brothers, V2, OM, Emporer Norton, and others to deliver music from artists in the Mixman format.

Mixman has also been a leading innovator online, providing online applications, activities and interactive mechanisms, that allow Mixman users to interact with each other. Currently available is Mixman Radio™, a place where fans, remixers and music creators can upload their music to the website as well as listen in, rate and review the various creations of Mixman users. Anyone with a web browser and internet connection can check out what these music enthusiasts are up to. With Mixman software, hardware, sounds and Radio, Mixman has created an integrated feedback loop for creation, performance, and sharing. Mixman’s environment also demonstrates a potential distribution model from which to create, self-publish and legally trade personalized versions of popular songs or styles - creating a dedicated and powerful community of fans. Mixman users are submitting their own original music for consideration in Mixman's catalog!

With the advent of the Mixman DM2™ (pro-nounced: Dee-M-Squared) as well as Mixman LoopStudio™ (due in 2005), Mixman has extended the DJ metaphor to hardware. This included USB controller works with current versions of Mixman software and makes the Mixman experience even more powerful and fun! DM2 TV commercials have aired on MTV and elsewhere. Future developments with games and gadgets are on the horizon.

The Mixman Brand is widely recognized and sought out for association. If it's Mixman-branded, "it sounds great", "it’s powerful" and “it’s fun!” Millions of impressions of the distinctive Mixman DJ-Head have been captured and millions of people have touched a "Mixman Experience" on or offline. Mixman has worked closely with Intel on a number of initiatives including IWOS and AreaOne and has been featured in Intel TV commercials. Mixman software has been bundled with Creative Labs sound cards, Sony computers and CD-ROM burners, Dell Computers, ESS sound chips and many other hardware products. Mixman has been associated with tours sponsored by Revolution magazine, Yahoo, Intel and V2 records as well as campaigns by Levis, Warner Records, M&M Mars, Hershey's, SoBe, Heineken and Doc Marten.
