10. Mix compatibility between versions

Mixman StudioXPro the highest version of Mixman, will play any .MIX file from any version of Mixman prior. StudioXPro has platter file support, and 32 track support which does not exist in earlier versions. All versions of current Mixman will play any D-Plate or Soundisc tracks offered from this site.

However, if you make a .MIX in StudioPro or Studio and save it, it will NOT work in older versions of the same applications.

We suggest backing up all your .MIX files, and custom tracks before loading and changing them in current versions of Studio, Pro or XPro, this way you can always get back to the originals.

Generally, Mix files are upward compatible, not backwards. Studio will open in Pro, but Pro won't open in Studio. Pro will open XPro but XPro won't open Pro or Studio.
